AM Summertime Smoothie

A simple green smoothie recipe for you that is refreshing. This is not a sweet sweet recipe. It won't taste like strawberry ice cream, but it WILL make you feel amazing first thing in the morning AND help kickstart your metabolism first thing! Try incorporating it a few times this summer on those hot days and see how you feel! It is loaded with nutrients so it will leave you feeling more full longer than a simple smoothie. Make sure to incorporate those healthy fats and proteins!

I am allergic to apples so I haven't tried this recipe with an apple, however, it would be a good addition for some extra flavour, nutritional benefit, and some sweetness!


  • 1-1.5 cups of nondairy milk, your choice (vanilla flavoured works will in this recipe)

  • 1/2 an avocado

  • 1 banana

  • 1 scoop protein powder (isolates work well, choose from whey, rice, or pea protein isolates!)

  • 1 cup of spinach

  • 1-2 celery stalks

  • 1/4 cup of cucumber, with peel

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds OR hemp seeds OR flax seeds (ground)

  • 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp of honey OR maple syrup OR 1 green apple to sweeten (optional)


1. Add all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth

2. Add more milk if you like a thinner consistency or add some water.

TIPS: If you don't have seeds, add an oil like coconut, flax seed or avocado. This ups the amount of healthy fats in your smoothie! If you are not a milk drinker substitute with water and add a tbsp of coconut oil for a "creamier" base.
