We're heading into a beautiful, hot, and sunny weekend in Ontario!! Are you staying well hydrated this summer? We lose a lot of water because of the heat, and water is so important in the body. It is involved in many functions like breaking down nutrients, it is a component of our blood, helps to eliminate toxins, and it is as essential to our bodies as the air we breath (to list a few). When we sweat, we also lose electrolytes like magnesium, potassium, sodium, and calcium. This can lead to dehydration.
